D.M. Karunasena, principal of Malwaththawala National School was transferred to Welimada National School in last week. During his three-year service, he worked hard to develop the school and enhance the beauty of school environment. He focused his attention on interrelationship between parents and school administration. With the help of parents and well-wishers, he renovated essential facilities of the school. A water project was badly needed, as the students did not have sufficient water supply to fulfill their needs. It made things worse by leading lack of sanitary facilities. So, the principal was the pioneer to start the water project which supply ample water to the school.
Another major need was an auditorium. There are many skillful and talented students who are good at various aesthetic skills. But unfortunately they did not have a proper suitable place for them to present or exhibit their talents. The students of Malwaththawala National School were very lucky to have the best gift they ever had. The principal himself dedicated to get a well- equipped auditorium and now it is ready to be opened.
